Recognise. Support. Heal.

๐Ÿ“… June is PTSD Awareness Month
๐ŸŽ—๏ธ 27th June is PTSD Awareness Day

What is PTSD?
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after experiencing or witnessing something traumatic or life-threatening.
It affects people of all ages and backgrounds, including young people.

Common Symptoms Include:

  • Flashbacks or nightmares
  • Feeling anxious, angry, or numb
  • Avoiding reminders of the trauma
  • Trouble sleeping or concentrating
  • Feeling detached or overwhelmed

PTSD looks different for everyone โ€“ thereโ€™s no one-size-fits-all.

Why Awareness Matters
Too often, individualsโ€”especially young peopleโ€”are misunderstood or labelled, when they may actually be living with trauma.
Awareness helps break the stigma and opens the door to healing and support.

How You Can Get Involved:
โœ… Educate yourself and others
โœ… Support friends, family, or colleagues
โœ… Join awareness initiatives like PTSD UKโ€™s 25 Press-Up Challenge
โœ… Encourage seeking professional help โ€“ recovery is possible!
